Open Path needs your help! There are many different ways to get involved and lots of opportunities. If you are looking for ways to give back to Open Path please consider one of the opportunities listed below.

We would love to have you volunteer to help others like yourself who need information and support with infertility or adoption. Some projects can be done independently and many projects are done in teams. If you have a special interest that you do not see listed, please contact our offices at 415-788-6772 or send an email to info@YourOpenPath.org.

Here are some current opportunities for volunteers:

1. Marketing Coordinator, 4 hour per month
   Do you think that every person going through infertility or considering adoption should hear about Open Path? Marketing Coordinators get the word out about Open Path through marketing and publicity campaigns, press releases and networking with professionals.
   
   
2. Membership Communication Coordinator, 2-3 hours per week
   Work with the Program & Marketing Manager to connect with the general public and Open Path members; communicate via phone and email, no travel necessary. Develop email and postal mailings to publicize meetings, support groups and other. Send new members welcome packets, and follow up on membership inquiries. This is a chance to help people who need Open Path find us!
   
   
3. Professional Member Coordinator, 4 hour per month
   Do you know many of the infertility service providers in your area? Professional Member Coordinators reach out to doctors, nurses, mental health professionals, adoption professionals, and others who provide services to those with infertility.
   
   
4. Fundraising Chair
   Plan and organize fundraising efforts for Open Path. Solicit funding and sponsorship to cover costs of projects, events, and publications. Flexible time commitment. One year commitment.
   
   
5. Support Services Coordinator, 4 hour per month
   Do you know just how important Open Path support services are to surviving the infertility journey? Support Services Coordinators answer questions about Open Path groups and help connect members with a group near them.
   
   
6. Special Events Coordinator, 4 hour per month (or more)
   Do you love to organize parties and meetings? Special Events Coordinators organize member parties, meetings and annual conferences with the help of local volunteers.
   
   
7. Online Newsletter Editor
   The newsletter editor provides a professional, quarterly regional newsletter to communicate information and articles to the members and professionals.You will be researching articles, interviewing people, soliciting articles and editing submitted articles. One year commitment. 
   
   

ONE-TIME PROJECTS - A flexible, easy way to volunteer

1. Annual Adoption Conference Panel Members and Day of Event Staff
   For many years, our annual adoption conference has been an event that has helped thousands of individuals and couples take the next step on the path to family through adoption. This event will be held in March 2008. We need volunteers throughout the day and many of the positions can be done while attending the conference.

   • Workshop Room monitors

2. Authors (No experience required!)
   Volunteers are needed to write articles for our newsletter. Sharing your personal journey through infertility or sharing your journey through adoption can mean so much to others and can be therapeutic for you. Please consider writing an article or poem to share.
   
   
3. Special Projects
   Assist with symposia, workshops, fundraisers, mailings, etc. as needed on a project basis. Flexible time commitment.
