"Exploring Adoption" Six-Week Course
If you have come to the decision to build your family through adoption one look on the internet and you will see that the options and choices are endless and confusing. This 6-week course goes over:
- Overview of process to adopt international, domestically and through the foster system using a facilitator, attorney or agency
- Understanding the common losses shared by the child, adoptive parent, and birth family
- Adoption fears and myths
- Attachment and Bonding
- Talking about adoption with family and friends
- Transracial/transcultural issues to consider
You will meet others like you who are considering adoption as a way to build their family. Groups meet once a week for 6 weeks. Please check the Open Path calendar for dates and registration information.
